There are many children who find it difficult to smile because there is little or nothing to make them smile. Many of these kids live in very disadvantaged communities and from very poor homes. The Youth Empowerment Initiatives is reaching out to kids and providing them with footwears (slippers, sandals, shoes), backpacks, copybooks, pens, and pencils for schools, as well as clothing. Some 122 kids of the Gozohn Community, in rural Montserrado, found a reason to smile as they received gifts from YEI.
“This is the first time for any organization to come into our community to give such items to our children. We are very happy because some of us don’t have the hand to get copybooks and book bags for our children. We pray that God will bless all the people who put money together to be able to get this.” – Mrs. Youmuo Blojay, mother of some of the beneficiaries
