What We Believe

We believe in God Almighty, His Son, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit (the blessed trinity). We also believe in the virgin birth, the atoning death, and the triumphant resurrection of Jesus Christ. We believe in life after death, that Jesus is the Judge of all humanity, that those who reject Him will spend eternity in a place of torment (hell), and believers in Christ will spend eternity with Him in heaven. Heaven – a place for believers in Christ.

Our Core Beliefs

GOD: There is one God who exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is eternal, all-powerful, all-knowing, and present everywhere. (Deuteronomy 6:4; 1 Corinthians 8:6)

JESUS: Jesus Christ is the Son of God, fully divine and fully human. He was born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for the sins of humanity, and was resurrected on the third day. He is the Savior and Lord, and belief in Him is essential for salvation. (John 1:1, 14; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4)

HOLY SPIRIT: The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity. He indwells and empowers believers for Christian living and service. He convicts people of sin, guides them into truth, and provides spiritual gifts. (John 14:26; Acts 1:8)

TRINITY: The Trinity is the belief in one God in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each person of the Trinity is fully God, and there is one God. (Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14)

BIBLE: The Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and authoritative word of God. It is the final authority for faith and practice. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; Psalm 119:105)

MAN: Humans are created in the image of God but fell into sin through Adam and Eve’s disobedience. All people need redemption. (Genesis 1:27; Romans 3:23)

CHURCH: We believe that all those who have been born again, through faith in Jesus Christ, are members of His Church (the Body of Christ). However, while we can enjoy fellowship in a limited sense with all believers everywhere, God has established local churches to fulfill His Great Commission by making disciples, baptizing and teaching them. The church is an autonomous community of baptized believers committed to following Jesus. (Ephesians 1:22-23; Matthew 28:19-20; Hebrews 10:25; Acts 2:42)

BAPTISM: Baptism is a public declaration of faith in Jesus Christ. We believe in baptism by full immersion in water. It symbolizes the believer’s identification with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. It is a requirement for church membership. (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38)

SALVATION: Salvation is by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone. It involves repentance from sin and trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior. Salvation is a gift from God, not earned by works. We believe in the “eternal security” of the believer, meaning once a person is truly saved, he/she cannot lose his/her salvation – once saved, always saved. (Ephesians 2:8-9; John 3:16; John 10:28-29; Romans 8:38-39)

SECOND COMING OF CHRIST: We believe in the literal and imminent return of Jesus Christ. Jesus’ return will occur in two phases; first, in the air (the Rapture) to call His Church (true believers) home, followed by a sevenyear period of Tribulation on earth, which will end by the Return of Jesus to the earth to establish a literal Kingdom in fulfillment of the covenant promises God made with His chosen people, Israel. When the Son delivers the kingdom to God the Father (I Corinthians 15:24), Christ’s kingdom will merge into God’s eternal kingdom in the new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells (2 Peter 3:13). (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Luke 1:32-33; Revelation 22:12)
