As part of our Ministry to Children and our regular assistance to the orphanage, we reached out to orphans at the God Empowering Orphanage, where there are 36 kids. During the visit, we provided some food, and took some time to listen to their stories and pray along with them.
Like many orphans in our society in Liberia, the God Empowering Orphanage caters to children who have lost their parents. Some of these orphans find themselves in orphanage that have their own challenges meeting the basic needs of the kids they are providing care and hope for. Providing safe drinking water, food, clothing, toys for play and recreation, and a reasonable shelter are huge challenges faced by them.
The Youth Empowerment Initiatives continues to try helping with some kind of feeding and little clothing when available.
There are still huge challenges with clean drinking water as the only handpump that provides clean water is currently down and not functional.
